Coal based power station in Bangladesh

First time an agreement has been signed in Bangladesh for establishing coal based power station. Power Development Board (PDB) signed an agreement with Orion Group in Bangladesh for three power stations with the capacity of 1087 MW. Orion Group will establish said power stations with in 36 months at Khulna and Chittagong and within 42 months at Munshiganj with the cost of 1.4 million for 282.6 MW at Chittagong and for 262.6 MW at Khulna and for 522 MW at Munshiganj. Government would not provide any found, energy, or should not provide any land even. Orion will operate the power station on the basis of Build on Operate. PDB will purchase electricity at the rate of Taka 3.795 per unit. The said investor company will import coal from abroad with its own imitative for the power stations. If the concern ministries give necessary approval, the agreements will sign within 2 or 3 months.
